Three years later, one of the judges wrote, “Such was the darkness of the day, and so great the lamentations of the afflicted, that we walked in the clouds and could not see our way.”

Writing prompt: Write a scene in which your protagonist tries and fails to prevent a rush to judgment about a person assumed guilty of a crime.
