SciFi/Fantasy – February 7

Thomas More, author of Utopia, was born on this date in 1478.

Most who’ve studied the book believe he intended Utopia — literally translated, “no-place-land” — as as satire on the folly of trying to create a perfect state.

Writing prompt: Write a scene in which your antagonist describes to your protagonist his/her delusional vision of the world your antagonist wants to create.

      “Duly noted yet a being with less conflict & less tension where we have reduced personal threat of injury is plausible. To one another greater dignity assigned. The need for more is reduced to a need for less resulting in competition of self instead of between. Could be a glorious epiphany.”
      “Could be. Would it be? Plausible?”
