TE Lawrence — the adventurer and military leader we know best as Lawrence of Arabia — was born on this date in 1888.

He bicycled across France as a teen and spent three months walking 1,100 miles through the Middle East’s deserts and mountains so he could learn more about the culture.

What culture would you like to learn more about, and how would you like to learn about it if you had no limits to your schedule or budget?
