Walter Liggett, American newspaper editor and muckraker, was machine-gunned to death in front of his wife and children by gangsters on whose corruption he’d reported on this date in 1935.

Writing prompt: Write a scene in which your protagonist makes his thoughts and feelings about the news media understood in no uncertain terms.
